Who Is Ice Rink Construction Consultants & What Do We Do?

Ice Rink Construction Consultants (IRCC) is a consulting company only. We do not sell any products nor do we do rink contracting or supplies of any type - there are many very good rink contractors and rink supply companies in the industry to provide those products. We are the experienced objective third party support to help you through the process of design, construction planning, financial planning, building design, drafting bid documents, bid specifications, and other industry related challenges where you would want people highly experienced in the field at your side to ensure you completed your project properly, on schedule, and on budget.

Why is the ice rink/arena industry not more successful?

There is no other sport where a person can begin literally when they start to walk and continue to enjoy the sport of skating into their 90's in some cases.  Skating events when televised consistently outrank competitive programming in Neilson rating surveys  by wide margins.  Skating is one of those activities which is fun, good exercise, easy on the body and joints, and can be practiced as a competitive activity or individually simply for fun at ones own pace.   It is one of those activities which seems to transcend generations; once a family member becomes a skater, more than likely the entire family will participate as will their children's, children.

With there being so much good from something so simple, why is skating and hockey not more popular and successful?  After all, we believe there are only two types of people in the world- those who skate, and those who should!

Too often good projects have gone bad simply because they received bad advise. We sincerely believe that any project gone bad hurts the entire industry. In today's modern age of technology and information, an installation in California has financial trouble today, we learn about it tomorrow in New York. We people execute ill-conceived or managed projects, it reflects upon the entire industry making financing and investor confidence harder to obtain.  Sadly some of the more publicly visible projects which have failed financially were actually doomed before they began simply because their financial model and execution plan were severely flawed. 

We feel any consultant who promotes a improper, or questionable business model, simply to obtain a consulting fee is sacrificing the health of the industry for their personal gain.

Our Pledge

While we cannot guarantee that all of our clients will be successful with their business enterprise, no person or entity should have the deck stacked against them before they open the doors.  We pledge to evaluate and assist with your project as if it were our our development project.   It is beneficial for all parties to look at your project hard, honestly, and with financial prudence.  If the construction costs are too high, or the expected revenue stream is too low, we at IRCC will determine if these factors can be improved to standard which is responsible, or we will be the very first people to suggest you not more forward with your plan as drafted - even if this means we will not be doing the consulting work for you.
